Puerto de la Cruz attractions

Martianez Lake Complex: leisure complex designed by the artist Cesar Manrique composed of a series of pools and lakes, opened in 1977. Has Plaza-centro Tenerifebeen restored (with a total investment of 25 million euros) and placed on the inside (which was previously known by the “Sala Andromeda”), is a casino that was in the Hotel Taoro and was inaugurated on July 8 2006 under the name of the Casino de Puerto de la Cruz.
Botanical Garden: Built in 1788 as a garden of acclimatization.
Loro Parque: zoo which has been open for over 30 years specializing in the conservation of all kinds of parrots and offers its visitors shows with parrots, dolphins, orcas and seals, in addition to monkeys, gorillas, tigers, etc.

Puerto de la Cruz attractions

Plaza del Charco: center of town. Around it is the main shopping area.  Inside is the famous “stack” with namera being the main distinguishing mark of this cosmopolitan place.
Beach Garden: black sand beach, remodeling of old beaches, designed by artist Cesar Manrique to give large areas of gardens, rock, bars and restaurants, leisure areas, etc. This consists of three areas: Charcon beach, Playa del Castillo Beach and Punta Brava.
Castillo San Felipe: Built in the seventeenth century to defend the people from pirates is now a cultural place where poetry, music concerts, exhibitions etc take place.
Church of Our Lady of Pena de France, initially built in 1697 and was later extended. Although currently the tower can not compete with the hotels in height, it excelled on small houses field defense.

Casa de la Aduana

Paseo de San Telmo: highly traveled pedestrian walkway along the coast from Porto to the Ermita de San Telmo (1870).
Casa de la Aduana: Founded in 1620 it remained the premises of the office and residence of the managers. Its current owner, the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, rehabilitated the units and hosts a craft shop on the ground floor and an exhibition hall and conference at the top of the building.
Hotel Taoro: one of the first hotels on the Canary Islands (1890), was later transformed into a casino run by the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife and is in the process of re-establishing its former function as a hotel.
Site Liter. Eighteenth-century house which has hosted famous visitors such as novelist Agatha Christie and the explorer Alexander von Humboldt. Today you can visit the house and garden with a collection of tropical and subtropical plants.
The Archaeological Museum of Puerto de la Cruz, with important pieces of prehistory of the island and is the idol of the Guanche Guatimac (symbol of the museum).
